My entourage works fine for calendar, contacts and sending mail.
However, for the last 24 hours, when I try to get mail, it begins the
process, then crashes.

I have updated it to the most recent version by downloading updates
from the Mactopia website...since this problem began to occur. i have
also restarted my computer.

Any experience with this?

It is likely to be a corrupt mail on the server - see here for details:

Hi Lee,

I've had the same problems with Entourage 2004; I'm using Entourage 2004 on
Mac OS 10.3.4 w/Exchange services too.

As best i could I checked these things and rebuilt the data base. The
problem still occurs. I can send messages and work with calendar and
contacts, but when it starts to receive messages it crashes. should I
uninstall and reinstall? if so, where can i find the uninstall
software?

Thanks for the help.

That won't help. It's an email message that's zonking the Junk Mail Filter
(in Entourage X only - it's fixed in 2004). Turn off Junk Mail Filter an now
you can Send & Receive. Then you should be able to turn JMF back on again.

.

I too have begun experiencing the constant crashing
syndrome with Entourage for X. It's to the point where
the program won't even open now. I've gone through all
my fonts as suggested in the online support section as
well as removed and installed Entourage 3 times today.

Funny thing is all the other Micorsoft Office for Mac
programs and Outlook 2001 for OS9 work flawlessly.

I just don't get it. And to top things off, everything I
do to get help using MS's online support leads me from
one dead end to another. It's almost like they're
forcing us to use the pay for help "option". I even
tried it on my PC laptop and there isn't a selection for
Entourage.

Anyone else notice these things?!?!?!

The above solution seems like it would apply to my
situatino as I had JMF turned on before the crashing
issue became a termainally fatal problem.

Any sugestion as to how I can perform the suggested tasks
when I can't even get Entourage (for OSX) to open without
crashing? I am able to use MS Outlook 2001 still in
OS9. Thanks...

Remove the Entourage Preferences (if you see one) and Entourage Settings
(10) files from ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/ . That should allow
Entourage to launch without running the Send & Receive All schedule at
startup.

You may also need to remove the com.microsoft.Entourage.plist in
~/Library/Preferences/.
