Entourage crashes when I go to "deleted items" folder

Hi everyone -

The subject line says it all...Entourage (10.1.4) crashes every time I
try to go to my "deleted items" folder. My OS is 10.4.2.

I recently went into all the "fonts" folders on my Powerbook and got
rid of all the fonts that are unecessary (according to the latest
MacAddict). I use Suitcase to manage my fonts. The problems with
Entourage started happening a day later. So, I figured it was a font
problem and I went into Entourage prefs and changed all of the font
options to a font that I KNOW is on my machine.

Maybe the font stuff has nothing to do with this. Any help from an
Entourage guru would be much appreciated.

Also, should I be running a more up to date version of Entourage? I
need my Entourage to run with an Exchange server and be able to sync
with my Palm Tungsten T. Thank you!

And what happens when you rebuild the database?

And what (if anything) does the crash log say?

Maybe not, though if you think I would trust MacAddict to tell me what
fonts are "unnecessary", think again. Also it may be that Suitcase is
the problem here. However, let's start with the database and the crash
log.

Hey Matt -

Thank you!... but that did not do the trick. I checked the Error Log
but it was unselectable. I went to Entourage Help and it said that if
the Error Log is unselectable then there has not been any error since I
have opened Entourage. So, I did a Typical Rebuild. That did not do it.
So, I did an Advanced Rebuild. That did not do it.

Maybe there is a nasty/virused/contaminated email in my Deleted Items
folder? I am in the process of trying to move those files to another
folder but it is a pain in the butt because Entourage keeps crashing on
me!

Thanks again for tips!

Matt -

I think I figured it out. It must have been a file in the Deleted Items
folder because now that I have emptied it, everything is fine. Thank
you very much for replying to my cries of anguish.
