Everytime I go to switch my identity the progam quits and I get an
"Entouage has unexpectantly quit" message. I am running OS X, Jaguar,
on a G4 Powerbook. Any suggestions?
You're not making it clear if the crash comes after you get to the "Switch
Identities" window and you've selected the identity to switch to and click
OK, or if the crash comes the instant you select Switch Identities... in the
File menu.
I think it's much more likely that it's the first case. If so:
Rebuild the database of the identity that won't open. Do that by holding
down the Option key as you click OK (or is it "Switch") in the Switch
identities dialog window. Choose "Advanced".
If that still doesn't help, delete the Microsoft folder in
~/Library/Preferences folder, where ~ means your OS X username folder in
/Users. Now try again. The crash would be caused then by a corrupt message
trying to download. Try command-K to run Send & Receive All (which was
turned off at startup by deleting the preferences.) If it crashes, write
back.
If the second case is what applies (Entourage crashes when you select
"Switch Identities" then do you also get a "Microsoft Entourage unexpectedly
quit" message when you try to quit normally?
