Entourage Database Lost

I am using Mac Pro with MS Entourage 2004 updated to 11.3.2 and it was
working just fine until this problem occurred the first time ‹ about 3 weeks
ago. I have gone to MS Mac Tech Support but they seem like it is a totally
new problem to them.

Here is how it began: I was cleaning up & deleting duplicate contacts when
after an absence I went back into the address book and all my contacts were
missing. ( I had had a problem early this month with an error message 3263,
can not connect to server. This may be the ISPs problem not mine.) We were
able to export the contacts from Now Contacts database as vcards and drop
them into Entourage. This resolved the issue for the moment.

About 3 days later I was in Entourage again, making some changes and BINGO ‹
all reinstalled contacts were gone, except for 3 that I had just newly
installed because they were not on my Now Contacts database.

Two things I¹d like to do:
1. find the old ms entourage database and be able to install it
2. be able to save the database regularly to another place so I cannot loose
it all again.

Any ideas how to get this repaired?

If all you are missing is the contacts, then it is possible that the
database is simply corrupted.
You could try rebuilding/repairing it (press the alt key as you launch
the appliciaion).

Two things I'd like to do:
1. find the old ms entourage database and be able to install it

The database is stored in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004
Identities

If you rebuilt the database recently, you might even find a copy of an
earlier version of your database.

2. be able to save the database regularly to another place so I cannot loose
it all again.

There is an Export function that allows you to export whatever you want
to an Entourage Archive.
