Entourage database not recognized

Overnight there was a power failure which shut the computer down. So
this morning on one machine, Entourage is no longer recognizing the
database, wanting to set up an account all over again. Disk verifies
OK, so I tried rebuilding, both typical and advanced. Almost
immediately the rebuild terminated, saying everything OK. But no --
database still gone. Am I screwed, or is there some way to get this
thing back? It's still there at 400K in the identities folder.

In Entourage, go to Entourage/Switch identities, and switch to the other
identity you see there - it looks like Entourage made a new one which you're
defaulting to.

But what version of Entourage are you in? Do you really mean "400K"? That's
_tiny_. In Entourage 2004, a brand new empty database is somewhere around
18-20 MB. Even in earlier versions, a new empty database is a bigger than
400K - so this might be the new empty one. Unless you really mean 400 MB...

No luck. Only one identity.

And when I move the existing database somewhere else and it creates a
new one -- same 400K. I guess I'm screwed. But thanks for the quick
answer.
