Entourage database problem

Jason

I'm using Entourage X (version 10.1.4)

Upon launch of Entourage I get an error message that reads;

"Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem,
rebuild your database."

I click the "OK" button and it continues to another error message that
reads;

"To rebuild the database, quit all other Microsoft Office programs and
try again."

I have no applications open while I get these error messages. How
shall I rebuild my database if I can't proceed beyond the first error
message?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Have you turned off Office Notifications in the Entourage menu top left?

Tony,
I can't launch the application to turn off Office Notification. I'm
looking to actually get in and see if i can recover my database or at
least rebuild it without reinstalling the software. Any ideas?

Thanks,

First you can start by launching the Office Notifications application, which
is in the Office subfolder of Microsoft Office X folder, or by clicking it
in the Dock if you see it there (the watch face with a red number within).
You can turn off Office Notifications there rather than in Entourage.

Then try rebuilding the Entourage database.
