We're running Entourage 2004 on Mac OS 10.3.9. We've been using it for
about six months without any problems.

Two days ago, when I tried to open it, it was like I had never used it.
The only email I see is the "Welcome to Mac Entourage" email from
Microsoft. Everything else is gone -- email, contacts, etc.

All of the files under Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004
Identities/Main Identity have a creation date from two days ago.

This all of this seems like a Very Bad Thing.

My questions are:
Is there any way to recover my data? I don't have a backup.
What caused this to happen and how can I prevent it from happening
again?
How do I backup my entourage data, for future reference.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Sharon,

Any chance you might have stored your Identity or Microsoft User Data
elsewhere on your machine or on a server, and created an alias to that
location?

If you search for Office 2004 Identities on your hard drive, do you find it
in another location?

Can you launch terminal and navigate to the Microsoft User Data folder and
do an ³ls² to see if the identity is perhaps hidden?

Thanks,
Rebecca

Yes, that was it. It looks like the folder got dragged to the desktop.
It's all restored now. Thanks Rebecca.
