Entourage DELEGATES and Exchange 2003

Roman B.

I'm currently running SBS2003 with 5 pc's and 5 macs (4 macs are on OSX 10.4
and one is 10.3.8) All of the macs are connected to the exchange server (VIA
Entourage 2004) and are working fine; however I have followed to the best of
my ability all the steps necessary to setup a delegate access, but it does
not appear to work.I have performed the following.

1.Tested my DNS. That Works...
2. Setup all the accounts (MAC and PC) on an XP machine running outlook 2003
first, and gave EDITOR LEVEL permissions for all the calendars, to all users,
and even gave permission (editor access) at the top level (Outlook Today) for
all the users (PC and MAC).
3. Then I went to my Mac's and added the delegate access for all the users
calendars I needed to access.
4. I now have an exchange account and 3 delegate access accounts listed in
entourage. They appear to be connecting okay. I can see the screens with the
users name listed at the top, but nothing is displayed.

Now the part that does not work. I can not see any calendars or anything for
that matter. If I click on, for lack of a better word, the users profile on
the left I just see a blank screen for any of the users I was given delegate
access to.

I want to be able to setup some form of group calendaring and group
contacts, with access for both PC and MAC's and I thought EXCHANGE along with
Outlook 2003 and Entourage 2004 could do this. Is this possible or just a
pipe dream???

I know SBS2003 won't allow me to view a calendar or contacts in the public
folder.

Thanks in advance for your help

THe calendar delegation "integrated" into your calendar.
If you open your calendar, you will see the delegates calendars i
Blue.

Yeah, thats it. you have to fish around for who each item belongs to.

And sending on behalf of is a bit weak in Entourage.

The inbox and mail heirarchy should be availble in the mail window.

I guess the only other option is to use Outlook Web Access, as needed
maybe have the delegate privy to the persons password.

I am equally frustrated with Entourage's performance and the hit th
Exchange server takes. I am now in a shop with a mere 80 people, and
am putting up a second exchange server (at their request) to handle th
load

The accounts are listed when you have the Mail function icon clicked. If
you have not granted access to the mailbox of that user, the window on the
right will remain blank. If the account line has "not connected" next to it
than there are problems with the delegated process. We have had a number of
problems since Systems forced SSL on the exchange server. The problems seem
to be caused if the back-end server(s) do not also have SSL turned on and
with certificates for each.
Now the part that does not work. I can not see any calendars or anything for

access to.

Click on the Calendar function icon (upper left in the group of six icons).
Delegated events will appear on the user's calendar grid but will be coded
in a different color. You can determine what user is which color by
right-clicking (control-click) an event on the calendar and selecting
Categories. In the list, the user's categories will be listed as "user 1
data", "user 2 data", etc.

I don't believe Entourage can access the public calendar.

A potentially useful tool is to use the TCPDUMP command from a Terminal
window in Mac OS X and watch the TCP/IP traffic when starting up Entourage.

Try:

sudo tcpdump src ip_address_of_Mac_client
