One of our Entourage 2004 users is suddenly unable to download any mail
from our Exchange 2003 server into his inbox. It first came up this
morning when there were no new messages coming in to the inbox since he
last checked his mail on Friday. All the other folders synced, for
instance I could send out a test and it would appear in sent items.
First thing I tried was quitting and restarting Entourage, then
restarting the computer. That did not help.
So I emptied the cache and had it resync. It redownloaded all the mail
in each of the folders, except the Inbox, which is now empty as it no
longer has the mail from when it was working on Friday.
Then I removed the account and readded it. Still, it downloaded mail in
every folder but the Inbox.
I'm not seeing any error messages here, it will briefly state that it
is "Synchronizing the Inbox" but then it will skip over it and go to
the next folder without stating that there was an error. After it syncs
everything else it just waits for the next send/receive cycle. Nothing
has appeared in the "Sync Errors" folder.
I've verified that his Inbox is still on the server with Outlook Web
Access, which he is using right now. He does have mail, in fact, he has
lots and lots of mail, that might be the problem. Does Entourage have
an upper limit to the number and/or size of messages it can sync? Is
there anything else I can try?
