Entourage: Drag and Drop E-mails

I recently switched from MAIL on my my to entourage and have a few
issues:

1. My account is still set up as an IMAP which I dig, but I can't
drag and drop messages to personal folders on my computer without
leaving a copy on the server like I used to in Mail. I can right
click on the e-mail and say move to> and then select the destination
file. Then it creates the copy on my mac and remooves it from the
server. Does anyone know of a fix for this so I can just drag and
drop it classic Mac style?

2. Scheduling: Does anyone know how to set up your mailbox so it
auto refreshes for you every 5 minutes or 1 minute or something other
than having to click the stupid send/receive button?

You can drag and drop. You'll see the + button. It leaves a copy on the
server. However the Move to button does that .... Move..... This seems like
wrong behavior to me. On the newsgroup there is a Copy to button that does
what you want. I'll report this.

Yes, Under Tools in the menu bar select Schedules. Set a Schedule. Be sure
to click on "Click here for Account options".

Why doesn't live sync actually work?

It only does so if the IMAP server supports LiveSync. Do a right-click on
the server icon and choose Get Info. If the text there includes "IDLE" then
it supports LiveSync, otherwise not. (.mac does not)

How do you get IMAP to refresh every time a send and receive is done?

Try option-command-L. It does an (undocumented) "special" IMAP refresh.

To change when entourage checks for mail, use a schedule. Set up a
send/receive under schedules and set the time for what you want.

Drag and drop is AWFUL in entourage. Fro some reason MS does not see it as
important OR they cannot figure out how to get it done. This is an issue in
the calendar, with email, and with addresses. 2008 may solve this, but at
the expense of losing VBA.

Command-Dragging a message will Move it. This is not easy to do, since
command-clicking a message in a folder list will deselect it.

In the Finder, items are moved unless you hold down the Option key. I Move
messages more than I Copy them, so I'd prefer this behavior. Over the years
I've gotten into the habit of just using the Move button on the toolbar and
navigating the pop-up window. This is probably counter-productive since this
window is not as big as my Main Window.
