Entourage dumps Explorer cache

For the last six months, I have been experiencing a fairly serious
conflict between Entourage and Explorer.

If I am using Explorer to access a Web store and then I check mail in
Entourage, the process of checking mail will apparently dump the
Explorer cache. When I go back to Explorer, the Web site no longer
knows that I'm logged in and anything in my shopping basket will be
gone. This has happened consistently on the following sites:

Shutterfly.com
Staples.com
babystyle.com
polo.com

And others I can't think of right now. Interestingly, it doesn't
happen at all Web stores. Gymboree.com seems unaffected.

I finally narrowed down the problem during a long tech support call to
Shutterfly. Shutterfly was aware of the problem, since they had
encountered it with other users, but since the trouble was with
Entourage, there was obviously nothing they could do.

Does anyone know if Microsoft is aware of this problem? I found other
posts related to this topic, but they are old. I have kept my Office
software updated in hopes there would be a fix, but the problem
persists.

Why don't you use Safari or Netscape/Mozilla instead? It seems highly
unlikely that Microsoft would fix this given that IE is no longer being
developed.
