Entourage email question.

I have just begun using Entourage. I notice that all the emails in my
email accounts inbox has been transferred to the Entourage Inbox. How
can I transfer all these emails back into the inbox where they were
stored before? And how do I in the future prevent the emails being
deleted from the inbox of my emailaccount.

I share my emailaccount with a team, so it is very important that,
even though I am using Entourage, the emails are not deleted from the
email account. How so I solve this?

Help would be appreciated.

Hi Ruby,

the most important information is missing: what kind of e-mail account is
it? POP, IMAP, Exchange or HTTP? Go to Tools>Accounts and see which
abbreviation you can see next to your account's name. My guess is that this
is a POP account, which means that Entourage removes by default any messages
that it has downloaded to your computer. To prevent this from happening
again, go to Tools>Accounts, double-click your account, switch to the
Options tab and check 'Leave a copy of each message on the server'.

If several people work on this account, it might be a good idea to switch to
an IMAP account; that way, any messages (incoming and outgoing) are stored
on the server and are therefore accessible on any computer.

Thanks, yes it is a pop- and your advice worked.
Is there any way of 'exporting' the content of my entourage inbox back
to my original email account inbox?

If you are saying setting up an IMAP account worked, then you can just use
"Move to" or drag the messages from your "On My Computer" folders to your
IMAP folders.

If you left it as a POP account and selected leave on server, then you would
have to forward them all back. Not a good solution. I would set up a second
IMAP account just for moving them back to the server. You can have both.
Just uncheck the POP account from schedules while doing this. Open Account
window and uncheck "Include this account from send & receive schedules."
