Entourage/Exchange - Create Appt?

R

Russ Harlan

Imanaged to get my account set up, free/busy even works for me now, but if I
create an appointment with my Entourage it doesn't seem to update to the
Exchange calendar folder.

By the same token, if I create a new contact in Address Book it doesn't
update to the Exchange contacts folder.

What might I be doing wrong?

First you have to make sure your Exchange account is properly set to
synch data (in the Tools:accounts menu). Then as far as I've seen, the
application does not immediately synch. I've noticed that most activity
occurs as the application quits. I'd check the settings first and then
quit the app allowing it to perform its "network tasks" ajust to see...

I believe it syncs every two minutes, and should not need to be quit.

You are probably right, but I thought quiting the app was a sure way to
force it to synchronize with the Exchange server.

Even faster and easier is to just go to Entourage -> Switch Identity, wait
for the sync to complete, and then re-select and open your identity.
