Entourage- folder list keeps closing...why?

Every time I launch entourage, the folder list is closed. I go to view, then check it and it opens, but closes automatically again forcing me to reopen it upon the next launch. Very annoying, this prob. just arose a few days ago- have been using entourage for years and this is a first. Any ideas for a fix? Please advise-

Did you recently upgrade to Leopard? This could be a permissions thing and
Leopard users are experiencing a lot of those.

Also some permissions are stored in the Entourage database. Rebuild your
database but first, make a duplicate in the Finder as additional backup. A
rebuild does make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and
backup get merged resulting in total disaster. This is rare, but it's easy
to make the duplicate as added insurance.
