How can l improve the look of the fonts in the Entourage message/body window
on my ibook.

I've tried all sorts of changes in the Entourage preferences menu but they
still look unsmooth, small and jagged. I prefer the way they look in the Mac
Mail window.

Thanks

You can control the size via the Entourage prefs panel. "Lists" font will
control the size of message subjects, senders, etc in Messages lists,
contact names, etc in Address Book and so on.

Plain text font will control what you see when you are both writing and
reading plain text messages.

HTML font will control what you and others see when you _write_ HTML
messages. They can't control what you _read_ when other people send you
HTML. That's determined by the sender's choices.

If the size is too small when reading particular HTML (or plain text)
messages, click the "A" button in the messages header toolbar (or Edit
menu/Increase Font Size).

For smoothness, go to System Preferences in the Dock. Select Appearance. At
the bottom is a popup which turns off smoothing fro font sizes under a
certain value. It might be set to 10, for example. Change it to 8 or lower
(mine is set to 6). Now your lists, which might have been at size 9 or 10,
will be smoother.

That said, Apple's Mail in Jaguar and panther uses Apple's text display
features for text display. Many of those weren't fully ready when Entourage
X was being created during OS 10.0 for OS 10.1. I think you can expect that
much of this will be improved when the next release of Entourage comes out.
It may even be somewhat better in the current version of Entourage - 10.1.4
- than what you're seeing in your Entourage 10.0.0 Test Drive. I've
forgotten if some improvements may have been made in v10.1.
Thanks

Yes, the option to "Enable Quartz Text Smoothing" in Entourage was
introduced in SR-1. If you decide to purchase Office X (with which you'll
receive a coupon for a free copy of Office 2004), you'll have that option
and the text will look much smoother.
