Entourage freezes

Entourage 2001 is freezing constantly. Running OS 9.1.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2001. Have trashed preferences.

Freezes when typing the message body. sometimes message is saved -
sometimes not.

Anyone have any ideas suggestions?

Make sure you've installed the latest Office 2001 update:
* Microsoft Office 2001 Combined Update 9.0.4

Download it from Microsoft:

If that doesn't fix it, try increasing memory allocation to Entourage.
Select the Entourage program icon in the Finder, and go to File -> Get Info
-> Memory. Set the Preferred size to at least 20000K, hopefully more.

If that doesn't have any effect, rebuild the database. Quit Entourage, and
then restart Entourage holding down the Option key. When the Rebuild dialog
box comes up, choose to do a Typical Rebuild.
