Entourage freezes

After a minute or two of launch, Entourage freezes (spinning red ball). It
happens usually when trying to access hotmail, but is not consistent.
However, always after a few minutes, it freezes. I¹m running 10.3.9 and
have the Entourage 11.1.0 in MS Office for Mac 2004. I have used this
version for a while with no trouble.
I have tried rebuilding and compacting database without resolution....any
suggestions.

Does it freeze completely or just temporarily then continue to operate
as normal? Or does it 'stall' every few minutes for a few seconds?

Same issue here, when i open Entourage it freezes after like 30 seconds
while downloading my Hotmail mail. It crashed in 10.3.9 and it still
does it in 10.4 Tiger, started about 2 months ago.

I have removed preferences, deleted account and started again, have all
updates installed.

If i stop the new mail download half way, entourage works great. But
the minute it starts to check for new mail if freezes and cant be
closed, has to be force quit.
