Following all the recent reports here on frequent hangs in entourage, I

Please, be patient until the cause is identified.
I had this problem initially in January. Working with MS techs, we
resolved it by rebuilding the database. So much for that. When it
started happening again after I upgraded to Tiger on Friday, I thought
it was purely coincidental, and I followed the same process of
rebuilding the database.
Big mistake. Not only has it not made any difference, a significant
number of my email messages now have a modified date that displays in
my summary list. They're all the same date, 4/5/2005. What is odd is
that whether I sort by Date Sent, or Date Received, the same date
shows. When I look at the headers, 4/5/2005 does not appear *anywhere*.
And the 5% of my emails that do not have b0rked dates, all appear
before the 95% that are b0rked, even though some of them date from
before 4/5/2005.
I tried to fix them by using your (Barry's) -- Correct the date v1.0
25th June 2002 -- but it makes no difference. The date remains the
same.
Grrrrr.
Absent any other suggestion, I'll try deleting the email account
locally, then recreating it. Fortunately, this bug isn't modifying the
mail on the servers - Mozilla running on another machine (a backup)
just loaded my mail account with no problems, and the right dates.
