Entourage hangs - is there a size limit for users email folder (Microsoft User Data)

Hello All,

I have a user that has close to 4 GB's of data in their Microsoft User
Data folder.

The issue is that upon launching the app or just clicking on different
portions of Entourage (e.g., going from Mail to Calendar) the user is
stuck with the beachball from 45 seconds to several minutes.

The user has Tiger (10.4.2) and Entourage version 11.1.0 (040913).

I've disabled Norton and added the Microsoft User Data to the PRIVACY
folder list of Spotlight. Both of which did not resolve the issue of
Entourage hanging.

Any ideas?

I just posted a similar message. As I understand it, there is a 4GB
limit. Entourage has me rebuild my database every time I open it. I
need to figure out a way around this as I use Entourage as a full
filing system.

The 4 gb limit disappeared with Entourage 2004 - there is effectively no
size limit, just a huge limit on the number of 'items' in the database - a
limit that you are unlikely to ever hit.

So if it's not a size issue, is it a synching issue. When I had the
user work offline, it worked just fine. But when I had the user back
online, the same issue of it taking forever to synch would happen
again. Is there a way to change the frequency of the client synching?
