I have Entourage v.X 1.4 (I believe) running on a G5 with Mac OS X
10.3.3. Today, for whatever reason, the program just stopped working.
I now get the startup screen, at which point it promptly crashes. The
bug report includes:

Now, I have attempted switching users, and this appears to work.
Through the process of elimination, I have found some type of problem
with the database file itself, which is 1.8GB large. Is there any way
to salvage this info? I cannot even login to Entourage to attempt a
rebuild... help and thanks!

Hi Scott. If Entourage will not launch for your user but will for another,
it may be due to corrupted preferences. In any case, you could try this:
copy your Microsoft User Data folder over to the new user (where Entourage
works) and try launching/repairing from there. I'd copy it instead of move,
and also make another backup copy beforehand (if you have enough HD space).

Good luck!

Chris, thanks for the suggestion. Actually tried that, and even tried
"rebuilding" database with that new user, but to no avail.... any
other suggestions?

I am running entourage x.1.4 on a powerbook g4. Entourage kept shutting
down upon send/receive. Could not figure out why, tried uninistalling and
everything else on the help pages/groups. Turns out, I went to my email
host server (bellsouth, pair.com ect..) and deleted all the messages on my
server, and the program works fine now. As long as I check my email
regularly. Dont know if that helps, but I figured I'd try. Good luck
