Entourage has recovered your interrupted work and saved it to your Drafts

Hi
Every time I open Entourage 2004 on Mac OS X Tiger I get the message
"Entourage has recovered your interrupted work and saved it to your
Drafts
folder"
and an old email appears. I delete the mail but next time I open
Entourage it's there again with the same message.
Any ideas how to get rid of it?
Thanks
Andy

Try rebuilding your database.

Quit all Office applications (including Entourage and Notifications).

Hold down the Option key and re-launch the application.
In a few seconds, you'll be greeted with the new Entourage 2004 Database
Utility. Select to rebuild.

During the rebuild process, the old files are renamed in case for some
reason the rebuild was not successful. After you've rebuilt your database
and checked the application's performance, you can delete the old versions
from your hard drive. Do not throw away these files unless you are satisfied
with the rebuild.

Old files for Entourage 2004 are named: Old Database

It's always a good idea to make a duplicate of your Identity before
rebuilding. Even though Entourage makes a copy called Old database, if
things go wrong everything could be lost.

Hi Diane
Thanks for that.
It was actually after a rebuild that this ocurred, would another
rebuild help?
After a rebuild is it ok to delete the old database?
Cheers
Andy

Further to below, that email disappeared after I kept deleting it but a
different one appears each time i open Entourage now.
Weird.

Try the rebuild again. It's possible your database is too corrupt to rebuild
successfully. That is why you are seeing the problem continue.

I would save the old database until you have resolved your problem. Each
rebuild will make another "old" backup.

Try exporting your data under File in the menu bar as an Entourage archive.
If this works you can import data into a new Identity in Entourage and
hopefully have a working Identity. If the database is too corrupt the export
will fail. At this point you need to get as much data out of Entourage while
it will still open. Drag folders to the desktop as MBOX files. Export your
contacts as tab delimited file. To export more data get Paul Berkowitz's
Export Import scripts (shareware).
