Entourage has stopped getting my Hotmail

For some reason, Entourage stopped retrieving my Hotmail yesterday. It says
"The server for your account returned the error 'logon failed--unknown user
name or bad password.' Your username/password settings or security settings
may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?"

Re-entering the password makes no difference.

I can access my hotmail from the hotmail web page with no problem. My other
(non-hotmail) mail accounts continue to work just fine.

I am running OS 10.2.8. I updated the Office software (up through 10.1.5)
but the problem still persists. I also rebuilt the database. I searched the
Mactopia site, and did not find a solution.

Clues?

I have seen that at least one other person is having the same problem I am
having with Entourage asking for passwords and having them not work, but no
solutions.

I went to the Mactopia site to track down support options. I click on
Entourage X, then Support. After searching for articles or information and
not finding anything relevant, I click on the "Contact a Support
Professional..." button. Fifteen minutes later, I feel like I have fallen
down the rabbit hole. A couple of times.

First, it takes me to a page that tells me I have selected "Entourage v. X
for Mac" and wants to know if it is a basic or advanced problem. I say
Basic, and hit continue. It asks me how I got my product. I say "purchased
seperately" and hit continue. It wants to know my location, I say "US" and
continue again. It then takes me to a page with 800 numbers for computer
manufacturers. This is clearly a dead end.

I start over. I go back to Mactopia, click on the support tab. I select
"product Support Centers." From the pull-down menu, I select my product,
"Entourage v. X for Mac." Now, I am back to a place I have been several
times already...

Back to the "Product, what type of problem, purchased seperately" series. I
click on the "get started" under the paid Online Support list. It gives me
another page with no options other than "continue", as I am already signed
in with my passport. I click the "Ask a Microsoft Professional for help"
button. This takes me to the "online assisted support" page, lists my
location as "United States" and asks me what my product is. Fine, it said
several clicks back that I had Entourage v. X for Mac, but whatever... I
pull down the list, and search in vain for Entourage. Encarta, Exel,
Exchange are the only e's. The closest I can come is Office, even though I
suspect that I am now somehow in a windows only list. Sure enough, the
office list is Windows only.

Calgon, take me away.....
