Entourage having trouble accessing Exchange

I am receiving the following error:

Mail could not be received at this time.
The server for account ... Returned the error "Login failure: unknown
user name or bad password." Your username/password or security settings may
be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

I am connected to Exchange Server 2003. This worked for a couple of
weeks without any problems. Now when I open Entourage, the error
consistently comes up and will not allow me to fully download my e-mail.

This seems to be a common issue and was hoping someone could let me know
whether this is an Exchange Server issue or an issue with Entourage.

I have repaired the corrupted keychain, purged the entry from the
keychain and cleared the cache. Can someone let me know of any other steps
I can try.

Jeremy.

- try connecing through OWA to see if you have any problem
If you don;t, open the Keychain Access applciation and run the First
Aid command to repair your keychain.

If it still doesn't work, find and delete your Exchange entry to let
ENtoruage re-create a new one and hopefully it will correct the problem,

I have been having this same problem on many computers at our
organization. We have found that it appears to be some sort of SPAM
that we are being hit with that contains foreign (appears to be
Chinese) and for some reason it has been causing Entourage to have some
problems. This may sound crazy that a SPAM message could cause this
problem, but try this nonetheless:

Look in your inbox, deleted items, or any SPAM folder you have set up
(you may want to do this through OWA or using a PC and Outlook) and
look for a message that either has foreign (Chinese) characters in the
subject, sender or body or that has a subject, sender, or body that
looks similar to this:

??????(???????63??)????5~6????????!

Delete these messages and make sure they're out of your deleted items
folder. Try and login to Entourage again.

I've had good success with this so far, but am anxiously searching for
a permanent solution from with Microsoft or a setting in Entourage.
I've found only one forum that had anything closely resembling this
work-around and all they said was to clear your deleted items folder
but not narrowing it down to the foreign character SPAM message.

Hope it works.
