Entourage/ Hotmail Sync Problems

I have had Entourage synched with my Hotmail for a year now without any
problems. The last week, however, I have been unable to send emails
from entourage on hotmail.

Five times last week, every time I tried to access my mail, all my mail
disappeared from my Entourage hotmail folder, and was replaced by one
email saying: Please visit www.hotmail.msn.com

I then have to visit Hotmail with my browser and verify that i am a
human being and not a computer program by putting in the digits i see
in a little jpeg that comes up on the screen with wavy lines over it.

After I have done this, I can then download all my mail again.

Obviously, I understand that Hotmail has to do checks like this now and
again. But 5 times in one week? How long will this continue, and will I
be able to send emails from Hotmail with Entourage or not? If it
continues like this, I'll have to switch email providers.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a Mac or Entourage or Hotmail
problem? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Help!

I am running OS X 10.2.8. Entourage version X.

I have been having the same problem. I have found no solution yet. One
thing I noticed is that when I visited the Hotmail site with my browser and
logged in and verified my account, sometimes(more than once) I will get a
page that says something like " The servers are experiencing an unusually
high volume of traffic, please try again later or try refreshing your
browser". Don't know if this is related at all.

I also have a similar problem. My Palm Tungsten T won't sync with
Entourage EVER SINCE I LOADED OS 10.3.8 The Microsoft Mac email
support won't work.

Any suggestions???

At least I'm not the only one. Let me know if you find out anything
more. i wonder if happenign to pc users too. funny thing is i've been
using it for ages, and problem only started last week, and i still have
it. just downloading all my emails all over again today!

Same problem here, also OS X 10.2.8 and Entourage X. I suspect that somehow
logging onto hotmail with entourage X is seen by the hotmail service as
"spamming". Why else would hotmail ask to confirm one's identity every time
after trying to send mail via hotmail with entourage?

ironic: a perfectly legal microsoft product seen by a microsoft service as
malicious. "this company will autodestruct in five minutes". Whoa!

Thank you for your posting..I now knwo that I am not crazy....imac os
10.3.8 and have been using hotmail for years without any problems...now
it is making me recertify almost daily....and still acting funny about
sending mail etc.....it this problem is not fixed soon I might just get
a .mac account and forget all of this hassle. my wife has a .mac
account and it ALWAYS works perfectly....
I guess you get what you pay for! thanks and keep me posted...
saw a thing on MS about to just ignore the message!!!! well that would
be nice to do if I did not need my email!!!

Signed up for hotmail plus for 19.95/ year .....all the problems are
gone! poof! I guess I will pay ms 20 bucks to avoid the problems, but
it seems like they are just putting the squeze for $...however it has
worked problem free since then! errrrrrrr

I've been having another Hotmail issue...maybe it's a Hotmail issue vs.
an Entourage issue

When I download email, my Hotmail messages all automoatically end up in
my Hotmail 'Deleted' folder, and my Entourage main inbox folder. Love
some suggestions on this one.

Yup. Free hotmail is being phased out so either pay the 0 bucks a month or
you another email program with entourage. You will still be able to receive
email but you won't be able to send email out of hotmail accounts via
entourage unless you sign up for hotmail plus

yes and now its saying that because i am a "valued user" and i have
been using hotmail for a while i will still be able to utilize hotmail
linked to outtlook or entourage. but any new e-mail accounts sent up in
hotmail will not be able to. unless i dish out $$$.

funny....its still acting up on me. i have 2 accounts sync'd and only
one is working properly.
any new settings i have to change???
