Entourage is full!

Hi - My Entourage is acting very goofy. I work in an Exchange
environment. I move emails (deleted items, sent items etc) monthly from
my Exchange folder to my local folder because I get the dreaded, "Your
mailbox is over its size limit" message. Well, it looks like my
database is up to 4 gig and apparently that is all Entourage will
allow. I would like to archive all of my old emails on to DVD but I am
not sure how. Do I just copy the Entourage database to DVD and let er
rip? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hmmm...how about this question. I have deleted all of sent items and
deleted items but my database is still 2.45 gig. I would like my data
base to be much smaller. How can I replace that database with a much
smaller database that still keeps all my identity info but trashes any
and all previous emails?

Deleting items is not sufficient. You must rebuild the database (quit
entourage, and start it up again while holding down the Option key).
Otherwise, the database is not compacted and free space is not
reclaimed. m.

Minor correction - a 'compact' will be sufficient in this case, no need to
'rebuild'.

Compact recovers the space from deleted items, but does not loose links,
folder IDs and other stuff that gets lost in a rebuild.
