Entourage Login Failure after upgrading to 11.2.3

P

Philman

Continually receive "logon failure: unknown username or password"
after installing upgrade 11.2.3. Exchange password is valid and works
fine when entered on webmail or via a PC, so the problem is definitely
somewhere on my MAC.

Have tried repairing keychain and eventually deleting keychain. No
help.

Running MAC OS x 10.4.5.

Greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer !

Delete those accounts and recreate from scratch. If you continue to have
problems, install tcpflow to monitor the traffic between Entourage and your
ISP.

Tcpflow instructions:

Download the Mac OS X version here:

http://www2.entropy.ch/download/tcpflow-0.20.dmg.gz

When you install, you do not see it.

To run the test, quit all other apps that might be connecting to the
internet like your browser, ftp client.

Copy/paste in this command in the Terminal:

sudo /usr/local/bin/tcpflow -i en0 -c

Now try to send the email and watch the traffic in the window of the
Terminal. You should see what is failing.

Thanks. I delete/recreated the account. Same behavior. I then tried
tcpflow which is nice to have, but doesn't seem to show ssl traffic,
and since I'm connecting to Exchange over my VPN, I don't really see
any of the mail traffic.

I had my tech watch syslog on the server side, and he can see my
Entourage box log in and then immediately log off. That's when I see
the 'login/password' error on my end. One more clue, is that today, I
saw an error pop up (-3259) that said 'an operation on the server timed
out. ' So that's it. Right now I'm stuck logging in to the Exchange
srver every 30-45 seconds.

From the Error Page
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error-3259>

Error -3259

No description...exchange error

User, Jeremy Reichman reports that -3259 seems to be solved by actually
making Global Catalog servers available for LDAP lookups.
