Entourage Lost all Contacts, Email, etc.

H

Holly Moorehead

Yesterday my computer (Powermac G4) froze on me, and when I restarted I
went to get my email from entourage (version X), and it started with a beginning
start up screen, like I have never used it before, and all my info, work
contacts, old emails, etc. was completely erased.

I tried to regain everything from my "main identity" but when I double
click on it, it opens Entourage and nothing happens. And I tried to
import it in, but the databases are gray.

I think I might have gotten a virus because yesterday I received an
email that said "Thank you for registering your Powermac G4, purchased
Jan. 16, 2004" and I registered and bought mine in August.

So I was wondering if anyone could possibly help find my old info... It's
very important to me, because I have a lot of work contacts, and didn't
back themup. (I know better now.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Start up Entourage, then choose 'Switch Identity' from the Entourage menu.
Do you see your other identity there? Can you switch to use it?

After switching, the new selection should stick. If it doesn't, try deleting
the 'Microsoft' folder from ~/Library/Preferences (where ~ is your home
directory)
