Entourage:Mac 2004 Error -17897

Hi I converted directly from Entourage X.v to Entourage 2004 and when I try
to get email from Compuserve Classic POP I get the following error
"Authentication failed because Entourage doesn't support any of the
available authentication methods." and "Error: -17897". There was not an
issue on the previous version of Entourage. All settings are the same.
Anyone have a similar problem and a solution? Thanks

I have had the same problem, and after spending 45 minutes on the
phone with Microsoft technical support, I am no closer to a solution
than I was before I called. It was disappointing that the solution
the support rep proposed was setting my account up as a hotmail
account rather than the pop-based MSN account I have used for a number
of years. In my case, I need to set the program up in this manner in
order to sync my emails with Versamail on my Palm. Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...
