Entourage + MAC + Blackberry Romance

so, I've been through more solutions for this problem then i care to
remember... maybe someone here will have a better idea then what i
tried so far :

all i want to do is to get an over the air sync solution between my
blackberry and apple's address book and iCal.
desktop based sync applications are not an option since i dont want to
get into the whole desktop sync thing (i just wont remember to do it,
and most of the tools are crappy and create duplicates most of the
times..).
address book is suppose to know how to sync with exchange contacts but
that never worked for me, specially due to the fact that our exchange
server uses SSL to allow incoming connections and address book
obviously has some issues with that...
that leaves me with only one option that i could think of - Entourage.
its syncs pretty good between iCal and address book, but in order to
get that data down to my blackberry i need to allow entourage to
connect to the exchange mailbox, which means i need to leave it open
all the time (or remember to open it twice a day to allow the sync
with the mailbox to happen).
with all due respect, Rosetta is crap and i don't want it running on
my mac all day. so i guess the question is :

is there a way to make entourage (or any other piece of software) sync
with the exchange mailbox automatically and it the background ? i
failed to find a solution with zero user intervention so far.

If you don't want to have to remember to sync your Blackberry to Address
Book and iCal I don't understand why you think Entourage will be
different. It too will require you manually synchronize. Are you wanting
to pass information from iCal/Address Book to Entourage to Exchange and
wirelessly to your Blackberry? Or are you planning to sync Entourage
with your Blackberry because you feel that will cause less data
corruption?

For Entourage to sync with Exchange, it must be running. It does not
have any background functionality other than the Office Notifications
daemon.

Does your company offer wireless Blackberry synchronization? This will
stay in sync with your Exchange Server and you can then make a one-way
synchronization from your Blackberry to iCal/Address Book.

yes we do have wireless sync, and i guess the second part of your
answer, answered my question..
if entourage does not ahve a background deamon and i dont want to keep
it running all the time, then i guess it
cant do what i want it to..

guess i'll wait for the iPhone to come out.. at least then i'll be
able to sync via bluetooth.

As Bill stated it does have the Microsoft Database daemon.

Bluetooth isn't built into Entourage like it is in Apple's Address Book. It
is possible to drag one or more contacts from Entourage directly into
Address Book where you can use Bluetooth, or just drag the
contact/event/attachment to the desktop, and use 'send file' from the
Bluetooth menu bar icon.
