Entourage - Mac - IMAP - deleted account

susandoe

Today i accidently deleted my imap account. I meant to switch
identities - and before i knew it....it was like a virus deleting my
computer - i could not stop it. Problem is - it has years of work -
which i no longer have access to the server or my own back up on a hd
- that crashed. Is there anyway for me to re-set this - or go back to
previous settings. I am fairly new to the macintosh community - this
is very discouraging and i am supposed to be letting everyone know
where i am these days....ack!

any help of advice wil be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you still have all the information needed to create the account,
just re-create it. (If you don't have that information, go to the support
page of your ISP to find it. Search for something like "Entourage Mac".)

The good thing about IMAP (as opposed to POP) is then when you connect to it
again, it should be exactly as you left it (plus any new messages that have
arrived since you last saw it).

It sounds like you might have moved some of the data to the folders "On My
Computer." In that case they should be there. If they were on the server,
they would still be there.

Deleting the account, only deletes your access in Entourage to the data.
