Entourage "mail error"

On attempting to delete the only remaining message in my IMAP/Exchange
Server inbox, Entourage gives me a dialog box reading "The action
could not be completed. Mail error." On clicking OK, it pops up
again...and continues to pop up repeatedly. The only way to exit the
process is a "force quit."

If I right-click on the Delete folder and choose Empty Deleted Items,
this problem does not occur.

Machine Model: PowerBook G4 (17 inch), predominantly Windows network

Jan: I had this same problem. Here's how I fixed it: 1) Close
Entourage. 2) While holding down the Option key, launch Entourage. 3)
Select Typical Rebuild. I didn't lose any of my mail or folder
messages after doing this process. Linda
