Entourage not loading anything

G'day all,
I am having a problem that may or may not be an entourage problem.
Entourage, whenever I open it, and run the cursor over the program,
just starts thinking, and doesn't change. I can see everything on the
program, you know, inbox, etc, but cannot access anything. As soon as
I attempt to access something, it just starts thinking.
This is what I think it is, but maybe someone out there can tell me
either way: I got an email yesterday that was enormous - it had a
thesis in it, but not as an attachment. the lovely person (bless
her) sent me a thesis that was cut and pasted into the normal message
box. It took ages to load, and I sent her a reply. From then on, it
was "all I can do is think" city. It was sent to my hotmail account,
so I went in to hotmail on the web and deleted the message, hoping
that might help, but it apparently hasn't.
What do I do? I can't do anything in Entourage at the moment, and I
need access to it desperately!!

Hoping for some help,
Rob...

It may be a one-time thing. If you have deleted a massive mail in Hotmail
through the web interface, it may be that your database is trying to re-sync
with the on-line storage.

Before taking more drastic action, it may be worth leaving things 'thinking'
for an hour or two to see if it sorts itself out.

Alternatively (or, as a follow on), if you right (control) click on the
hotmail server icon in the folder listing, do you get a contextual menu item
to clear the message cache? It may be worth selecting that, and allowing all
the 'real' messages on the server to be re-downloaded. You will lose message
status symbols & links that show when a message was replied to etc., but all
messages should be restored.
