Entourage not reacting any more when connecting

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Email Client: pop

I tried to come back to Entourage from other mail apps, I hoped the new version will be an improvement.

AFAIAC it is not.

I have a fresh installation, no remnants from the long ununsed Enourage 2004.

As soon as I try to connect with the first pop account it goes into nirvana and has to be killed via the task manager.

Any idea?

I wish to add that this happens whne trying to connect to the secure t-online servers securepop.t-online.de/Securesmtp.t-online.de

Apple Mail has no problem with these servers.

What are your error messages?

I suggest creating a new Identity in Entourage. Enter your account info
there. Do you have any problems in the new Identity.

Be sure to set mail to "leave on server" for the test.

Thank you Diane,

I tried with a new identity, to no avail.

The problem is, there is NO ERROE message whatsoever, it just says "trying to connect with server xxx...." and then the spinning wheel comes up.

The account info is correct, I already tested with wrong credentials (but non-secure t-online severs) and I got the correct error messages. So this works fine.

And as I said, it works with secure servers from other ISPs. Now it happens that t-online is the major consumer ISP in Germany :-//

I will address this in their forums too, but I still hope someone from Microsoft will pick up this issue.
