entourage opens multiple times

Mac OS X with entourage connected to Windows Exchange 2003. When
entourage is opened it usually opens to an old identity. Occasionally,
it will open with the new identity, and open the inbox up to 200 times.
Any suggestions how to stop this from happening? Restarting the
computer doesn't help.

Did you try rebuilding the database ?? (hold the alt key down as you
launch Entourage).
It will repair the mailbox, force the re-download of all mesasges,
contacts and calendar items (losing the categories in the process though
:-\ ).

That might correct the problem,
