Entourage & Outlook Font Issues

I know this topic has come up in the past, but I want to refresh it, as
it still remains rather nebulous.

When I send an HTML email in Entourage, some people recieve it with
very small fonts, running Outlook 2003. I use Verdana 12pt as a
default HTML font. Often times, this occurs not when I send the email,
but when someone replys or forwards the email.

I understand it is based on the email clients identifying the font size
in pixels in the html. I really find it hard to believe that a system
dependent value like this would be used, but that appears to be the
case.

The only real suggestion that I have seen is to use plain text email.
This may work for a short term solution, but I've seen reference to
this issue going back for well over a year. This is basic
functionality for the email client.

Has anyone else who has seen this issue gotten any feedback from MSFT
about getting some form of actual resolution? I like to use MSFT
products for most applications, but come on....it's compatibility
between two of the same companies applications....

I totally agree that all of the solutions to this proposed in the past
have been unwieldy at best and unworkable at worst.

I send e-mail to customers from Entourage 2004 and I have several times
gotten back complaints that I should increase my font size. I have it
set to 12 point when I send it and my customers using Outlook complain
that it is 7 point when then get it. All hand-waving and convoluted
"explanations" concerning screen resolutions and pixel counts aside,
this is just plain asinine. This does not happen when we exchange Word
documents; it should not happen between Entourage and Outlook. Period.

So does anyone out there know if Microsoft has ever actually addressed
this issue or ever intends to?

Please understand that I certainly am not blaming anyone on this board.
I appreciate all the help I get, sincerely. But I just can't accept
that it is supposed to work this way.

Has anyone out there actually heard a definitive answer from Microsoft
on this one?

Thanks,

Alphajoser
