Entourage - Outlook user-defined fields

Someone at my company would like to add user-defined fields in "contacts" to
track additional contact information. In essence, he would like to turn
shared contacts into a small database. This sounds easy, but it isn't. The
contacts would be shared between an Entourage user and an Outlook user.

Any user defined fields I create in Outlook do not show up in the shared
version of the contacts in Entourage. Is what I'm trying to do possible and
what might I be overlooking?

The "other" fields in Entourage can be used, but not sure how you would link
them up to the Outlook fields. I'm assuming you are using Excel to merge
them. There could be a way to merge those columns using Excel. The Excel
newsgroup would be able to help with that.
