There are two ways I can think of right now, other than manually associating
an e-mail to a project. First of all, you could use an outgoing rule
(Tools>Rules, Outgoing tab). You will have to define a couple of criteria
and you can then choose "Set Project" as the action. This is probably the
easiest and most convenient way. Another option would be the use of watch
folders. Entourage automatically associates e-mails in a project's watch
folder to that project. So when you compose a new message, you can click on
the Options button, select "After sending, move to" and then pick your watch
folder. The watch folder is set up during the creation of a project, by the
way, but you can also create it at a later stage by selecting your project
in the Project Centre and then clicking on the Properties button. The
disadvantage of that method is it is not automated and requires you to do
the linking manually.
i can associate contacts for the incoming mails to be routed to the
correct project, but what about new outgoing mails to the same contact?
unless it is a reply to an incoming message, this has to be manually
linked mail by mail which is a pain..any ideas? thanks
