Entourage quits when retrieving msgs

OS X 10.3.9, Entourage X 10.1.4

Entourage quits while retrieving messages. Every time I relaunch the app, it
quits while downloading msgs. I disabled the show HTML option, but it didn't
help. I have to relaunch and immediately stop all messages in progress
window.

I was able to view and delete msgs from the Comcast mail server, but I'm
wondering what is happening with Entourage.

Why does it quit? Is it a downloading msg that is causing it? What should I
do to prevent it in the future?

My Entourage just started doing the exact same thing. It's so annoying!
I'll be checking back to see if any solutions are posted.

As of this afternnon, I'm suddenly having the same problem & I note
that someone else in this thread suddenly has it too! I've been using
Entourage 2004 for several month w/OSX 10.4 w/no problems. It was
running on this Mac for several days w/o a reboot when all of a sudden
it just quit in the middle of an automatic mail fetch. Now it crashes
on loading and fetching mail. A reboot of the computer does no good.

Is it possible that MS did something in an update that has put a bug in
the code?

Anyone with any ideas?

Thanks. I had already intuited that there might be an email message
that was crashing Entourage when it tried to download mail (after
uninstalling & re-installing MS Office!). I went to my email server via
webmail & deleted all the messages that had arrived after the
mid-afternoon period when it started crashing. When I re-loaded
Entourage, it worked fine.

First time I've ever encountered such a problem. Weird.
