Entourage re-set?

After switching to Jaguar, I launched Entourage and it was as if it
had re-set to the beginning. I was even asked if I wanted Entourage to
be my default email application and discovered that all my emails and
contacts disappeared.
Can I get my contacts or emails back?

What version were you switching from? In writing the rest of this message I
am assuming you switched from some earlier OS and Entourage 2001 to Jaguar
with Entourage 2001.

First, drag your e-mails that you've received since moving to Jaguar to the
Desktop, so you have them for later. Then, go to /Users/<Your
User>/Documents, and move the Microsoft User Data folder to the Desktop.
Now, navigate to /Documents/, and locate the other Microsoft User Data
folder. Drag the folder to /Users/<Your User>/Documents/, and then
Command-Option-drag it back to /Documents/ (its original location). When
you launch Entourage, you should see your data; if not, go to File -> Switch
Identities and re-select your identity. At that point, you can drag your
messages on the Desktop into Entourage, and delete your other Microsoft User
Data folder on the Desktop assuming all seems to have gone successfully.
