Entourage Receive All

I have Entourage 2004 on my computer. At what seems to be completely
random and unpredictable intervals (spanning from as few as 24 hours
to three or four months), Entourage will re-receive every email I've
ever received from my three web email accounts. After more than a year
of use, this amounts to over 2500 emails. At this size, deleting these
items permanently becomes a very time-intensive task, not to mention
the 30 minutes it takes Entourage to receive all 2500 emails. I'm
afraid I'm not terribly computer literate, but am searching
desperately for a solution. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've had this happen on occasion with some of my POP accounts where I've
set the messages to remain on the server for a select amount of time
(such as 30 days).

I'm fairly certain this is nothing to do with Entourage but something is
instead happening on the server. Maybe it's getting rebooted or your
message store is being moved to a different server by the
administrators. Unfortunately, I know of nothing you can do about this.
But you can control whether or not messages are left on the server or
simply downloaded and deleted. If they're deleted from the server from
the beginning then nothing will be left to download later.

Hope this helps!

In addition, use the Remove Duplicates scripts to clean up the mess.
