Entourage removes attachments

I recently installed Office 2004, and Entourage is removing attachments
from both incoming and outgoing email.

All information in this version of Entourage was imported from Office X:
Entourage.

I have turned off the junk filter. I checked all Preferences and see no option
for anything relevant. I checked "Automatically download pictures from my
Address Book contacts."

I have two e-mail addresses. I went to the Yahoo site and sent myself
messages in both directions (from Acct A to B, and Acct B to A). Yahoo
confirmed no viruses in the attachments, which were small .jpg files that I
created.

Both messages were received at Inboxes on the Yahoo site with
attachments. Both messages arrived in Entourage with messages stripped
out. Both of these addresses are in my Entourage Address Book.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer,
Thanks, DC

Check your Rules and Mailing List Manager.

Dave:

Thanks for the suggestions.

I do not use the Mailing List Manager; it is empty.

The only Rules I use are to move mail from the Inbox to various other
folders and to set categories.

I also use Spam Sieve. I went to that site and followed instructions for
using it with Entourage 2004 -- turn off Entourage Junk Mail (I checked
"None"), and load the Address Book. After doing so, I restarted the
computer.

I have read the Office Help re junk mail. Just to be sure my own addresses
were not on the junk mail list, (they are in my address book), I clicked
"This is not junk mail" on the test message that was received with the
attachments stripped off. I resent the message and it was stripped again.

In Entourage Preferences:Security:HTML Options I have checked both
options: "Display Complex HTML in Messages" and "Automatically Download
Pictures from my Address Book Contacts".

Any other ideas?

Partially download messages may be turned out. The attachments might not
show up until the full message is downloaded.

Try viewing source on a message to see if the source contains the attachment
(big blocks of Hex gibberish).

Dave:

I have DSL. The attachments totaled about 150kb. I don't experience
anything you might even remotely call a "partial download".

And, no, there is no HEX gibberish in the Source.

PS: For some reason if I click on "Post Reply" to your latest message, the new
message pane contains:
-----Original Message-----
Message unavailable

and when I hit send, I get an the message:
The message could not be posted to the NNTP server. The transport error
code was 0x800ccca9. The server response was 441 (629) Article Rejected
-- Ill-formed message id '=?iso-8859-1?Q?
[email protected]=3E?=' in field 'References:'

Is that the way this is supposed to work -- I can only post a response to my
own original message?
