Entourage set up and address book issues

Meg

I'm a new Mac user.
There are some things which were basic and staightforward to do on my
PC (in Outlook Express), but which I can't seem to sort out in
Entourage X!

I'd really appreciate some help:

1. How do I forward an email as an attachment without opening it (eg I
suspect an email "from my bank" to be fraudulent, and I want to send it
to my bank for verification, but without opening it in case it contains
a virus).

2. Can I attach a 'request read receipt' to the emails I send (ie an
automatic message accompanies my email with a request to the receiver
to confirm that they've received my email).

3. Is it possible to get the address book to automatically add the
addresses of everyone I send an email to?

4. Can you add extra icons to the toolbar above the main screen: I want
to add 'inbox' as a clickable icon, and I can't see how to do it!

Thanks in anticipation.

Just use Entourage's Redirect command in the Message menu.

You don't have to worry about opening viruses just by viewing an email on
the Mac. Only if you open an attachment or click a link in the email are you
at risk. The worst thing that could happen is if you have HTML viewing
turned on and allow Entourage to download a web bug (a small graphic that
when it is downloaded tells the sender that you've opened their email).

And basically every email you get from your bank, mortgage company, eBay,
PayPal, etc. that does not address you by your full name is spam. Whether it
is even worthwhile to forward/redirect these on to the company is
questionable.

She doesn't say which version she has, but v.X does not prevent remote
graphics from loading in an email like 2004 does. So if she DOES have v.X,
just viewing the email--an html with the preview pane on, for example--would
download a tracker graphic, thereby validating her email address.
