Entourage Soundsets no longer work

Folks,

My sounds sets have been working fine up until yesterday but now I can't
hear any of them. I figure they're playing alright but that the sound is not
reaching the output. Please advise where I need to go on the Mac to correct
this config issue.

First thing I'd do is go to the Sound preference pane and verify that your
system alert sounds still play. Pick a few and make sure they make sound.

Next, go into Entourage preferences and select the individual sounds and see
if they play. Pick the default set and try them.

There is a known "bug" where the sounds can come and go. That may be your
situation.

Let us know what you find.

System alert sounds all play no problem. However in Entourage, Default sound
set does not play (incl clicking in individual sounds).

What's the next step?

Not sure. Many people have experienced this and I'm fairly certain
Microsoft is searching for a solution. This is likely a conflict with
changes Apple made in some update, so not totally Microsoft's fault. Some
routines are stepping on each other's toes here.

Try to do all of the things in the preference that create sounds (i.e. save,
etc). You might be surprised to see that some of them might work, but not
all. (that is my case). Occassionally I can get them to work, but then
something else kills them again.

You're not alone. That is the best I can do. ;-)
