Entourage sync issue with Exch 2003

Hello

I have a problem where one of my MAC user mailboxes is no longer
syncing new emails with Entourage. This has happened all of a sudden
late last week. The user can send messages but not sync new
messages. Also, the user monitors 2 other mailboxes as part of their
profile which have no problems syncing new messages. Just happens to
this one mailbox.

Have tried deleting and readding the account, all emails sync
initially but after that completes no new messages arrive.

Have tried emptying the cache, again all emails sync initially
(including any that were missing) but then no new messages come in.

I have tried adding this users mailbox to another MAC logged in as
Administrator, the same exact things happens as described above. This
makes me thing there is something wrong with the users mailbox on
Exchange but I've never encountered anything like it before.

I am able to get to the users mailbox through OWA. I'm able to get to
the users mailbox with no problems through MS Office Outlook client.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi anthony!

This sounds like your user may have a corrupt message stopping the sync
process. During the initial sync are you sure everything is getting
downloaded? Typically the corrupt message will be the last downloaded
but this may be in a buried folder.

Hope this helps! bill

Hello william

I guess its possible that a corrupted message is causing this. Do you
know how'd I'd go about tracking down which message may be the
culprit?

Also, another piece of information. The user is connecting via OWA to
use email while I work out this issue. On my Entourage test machine i
can see that Sent Items, Deleted Items, Drafts, etc... are syncing but
no new messages coming into the Inbox. She has subfolders of inbox
where she files messages. Perhaps a messsage in one of these
subfolders is corrupt??

Does this help in troubleshooting? Anyone else encounter this??

Thanks...

Hi anthony!

Locating the problem mail message can be a tedious matter of looking at
the account in Entourage and comparing the message count in each folder
to the account opened to the same folder in either OWA or Outlook. Where
you see a discrepancy you'll probably find your damaged message.

Be sure to include the Drafts, Deleted Items and Sent Items folders as
well as the Inbox and its sub-folders.

Hope this helps! bill
