Entourage synchronization

dotnetdns

Hi,
I have a client with Entourage 11.2.1 and upon his inital connection to

exchange his local calendar, contacts, and mail items did not
synchronize
with Exchange (Server 2003). Is there a manual way to force another
synchronization? They are not getting regular synchronization either.
The connection to the server is bieng made because they are getting
E-Mail. Could it be that the server cannot see the local folders. This
client has a complex local Entourage setup.
Thanks,
Doug

It loks like there is something wrong in the settings then. Try using
the http address of the OWA server directly as the address of the
Exchange server (eg: http://webmail.mysompany.com/exchange/)

Corentin,
The connection is being made. I think I may have been unclear about how
the synch is failing. Let me clarify. The client has been maintaining a
detailed calendar on his local drive prior to the Exchange Server
instalation. We are trying to synch his existing Calendar with the
Calendar on the Exchange Server. We were able to copy his existing
Calendar but that created 2 Calendars on the Exchange Server (the
default and Calendar1). We just want one Calendar and we want it to
contain the information from his original Calendar.
Thanks for your time and help,
Doug

I'm not sure I perfectly understood what's going on but let me try.
Since the latest major service release for Entourage 2004, the calendars
are not managed the same way they used to. We used to have one only
calendar that was stored locally and would be copied on Exchange upon
synching.
The new scheme is different. It differentiate local and Exchange
calendars. Data on the local copy will simply be ignored by Exchange.
If I denrstand what's going on for you, I suspect that the calendar
entries are stores in the local store. You need to select all entries
(use the views to get a list and select them all) and move them to the
Exchange calendar.
The same applies to address books.
There is, unfortunately, no way to simpoly merge the two and have only
one calendar anymore... :-\
