I have noticed that, on regular occasion, Entourage will stop responding and
an immense amount of disk trashing starts to take place. This trashing
usually lasts from 2 to 5 minutes, during which time, NO Microsoft app will
respond. Other apps opened, and the Finder are still responsive And if I
patiently wait for this trashing to complete, the app will again begin
responding, typically trying to perform the last 5 or 6 things I did (like
menu or window change clicks) all at once.
I have done the check and rebuild of the database, and the first time it
repaired a problem, and now reports none. I can only assume that this has
something to do with the database, but exactly what? Is this part of the
auto ³background² check, and if so, why is it not actually IN the
background.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
