it is likely that a corrupt message is trying to display
in the browser window and crashing entourage as it does.
Try the following - as soon as windows start to draw (if
they do) hit cmd-\ (that's command-backslash) to turn off
the preview pane.
If that doesn't work, try deleteing the
entire 'Microsoft' folder in ~/Library/Preferences/
(where ~ is your home directory).
If that still doesn't work, run the 'remove office'
utility on the installation CD and re-install. You must
use the utility to remove every trace of the application
from your hard drive - dragging to trash is not enough.

NB - all these instructions are for Entourage vX - you
didn't state your versions, so if you are using 2001 some
of these won't make much sense.
