entourage update won't let me open program

Greetings, good people. I downloaded the update and now Entourage will
not open. I notice that the number next to the program in my dock
(which I think refers to a database or profile of something) is
different than it was. Can anyone offer a clue or maybe refresh
mymemory on how to tell entourage which profile or database to use. Is
anone else having issues with this "update?"

UPDATE: Mercifully the problem was just that the update changed the
shortcut to the program in my dock. I removed the old shortcut in the
dock and established a new one. That solved it.
