Entourage Updates Data loss

After installing an update there is no data in Entourage. Apparently
the data file is moved. Why? I could only get my data by restoring
from a backup ie it was an emergency situation. I can't believe this
is supposed to happen as if the features of the program are used it
becomes an essential part of your working environment and the time
wasted after updates can be nothing short of traumatic.

This is not supposed to happen. Anytime there are updates to an application
or the OS there is a possibility of catastrophic loss.

Sometimes the file can be found in lost+found, an invisible folder at the
root level.

Virus software can also quarantine your database making it invisible.

Usually when your data file disappears it's user error. The Microsoft User
Data folder must be located in your User's Document folder.
