entourage useless with exchange server

B

Bob Harper

I've concluded that Entourage is garbage and cannot be used as a
serious mail manager with Exchange. My mail hierarchy on the Exchange
server consists of thousands of messages classified into dozens of
folders. Entourage is totally useless, because it frequently and
unpredictably goes catatonic with the spinning beach ball of death for
periods as long as FIVE MINUTES or more. These "pauses" occur while
I'm typing mail, or at any other time, unpredictably. I also notice
that Entourage seems to spend all of its time synchronizing folders
that haven't been touched in years, yet somehow it has to constantly
re-synchronize them. I could go on. I switched to the Mac to get away
from lousy MS software, but because I'm wedded to the Exchange server I
cannot get away from it ... to my infinite regret.

In short, Entourage is rubbish.

Had a good rant have we? Out of your system now? So glad you could share
your views with us in such a dispassionate way!

If you are still looking for feedback, have you tried the
http://entourage.mvps.org/ web site to see if there are any answers to your
problems?

I have a tip for you; use Kerio MailServer for OS X

http://kerio.com/

It does everything Exchange does only better!!

This happens if you are using NAV9 on OS X with Entourage. Turn off NAV and
you should notice a significant improvement.
